Japan is known for its special affinity to cherry blossoms. In Japanese poetry, the word hana, which literally means flowers, often refers to specifically cherry blossoms.
Luckily I happened to be back in Japan at this time of the year. You can enjoy the graceful pink hues in almost every corner of the neighborhood.
The most famous destination for cherry blossom viewing, however, is no doubt Mt. Yoshino of Nara Prefecture. Ancient emperors and nobilities in Japan used to pay a visit there to enjoy the peak of the blossom season.
Thanks to the drone technology and the efforts of people in Yoshino, we get to see its beauty in a way that even emperors in the past could never have done. Here you go!
